As a part of the '24-7 Youth Work' Network, our youth workers have supported young people in Whangaparāoa College since 2006. Our youth work is all about being presence based and seeing young people flourish. We do this through one-on-one mentoring, group programmes, lunchtime activities, attending camps and most importantly building trusted relationship with learners and staff.
Youth Workers intentionally facilitate connection between learners with positive environments and events, and support staff to maintain a healthy learning environment. Youth Workers work in conjunction with the Guidance Department and this is crucial to their practice.

'Whangaparāoa College is delighted with the relationship we have with Coast Youth Community Trust (CYC). The Youth Worker team is an amazing resource that supports our young people to be better every day. CYC provides a well-balanced and unique approach to this that is responsive to the needs of our school as we continue to grow and develop.'Steve McCracken - Whangaparāoa College Principal
